Who in the world created the term shacket!? Because I definitely need to thank them for this catchy new word that describes the perfect blend between a jacket and a shirt. I’ve been experimenting with trendy shacket inspiration ever since because I can’t go a week without wearing one!
Shackets are easily my favorite clothing item — replacing my old favorite, blazers. There are so many different ways to style them, but my favorite thing about shackets is that they instantly elevate a look! A shacket will turn any everyday casual outfit into an outfit that looks chic and put together. Similar to sweater vests, shackets have completely taken over the fashion world in the past year.
My go-to casual shacket look is paired with leggings or a pleated / tennis skirt! The more oversized the better when it comes to casual/comfy everyday outfits. If it’s long enough, then you can even wear it by itself!
I love wearing classic white sneakers with my shacket if I’m running errands or chunky boots if I’m actually going somewhere “important”. Featured is a long red plaid shacket, with pants underneath — to protect from any unwanted breeze — and sock lug boots with a middle zip. FYI – plaid is making “a comeback” in 2021 even though I personally don’t think it ever went anywhere. Outfit #2 consists of an oversized blue plaid shacket (I bought a large instead of my usual medium), a fun pleated black mini skirt, and black loafers with sheer socks.
