Taking Talbots Classics to Work

And so it begins…

Wahhhh my summer of “Netflix and chill” is officially over as I move to Minneapolis today and start work on Monday! I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a tad nervous to start this new chapter.  I’ve been mentally preparing for this however and I’m ready!  I’ve also been building my work wear closet adding classics to round out my trendy pieces. Although it’s fashion week season and fashionistas everywhere are glued to the runways looking for new trends and updated styles, one thing is certain, classics never go out of style!

What are classics?

Classics to me are those pieces that you can wear year after year after year and they are still stylish. I’d liken it to the simple, chic and polished pieces that scream classy. They make the perfect base for a work wardrobe as your shoes, handbag or a well placed piece of statement jewelry gives the outfit your unique voice. The first thing my closet needed was the perfect classic blazer to wear with anything!

Although I love indulging in trends I like balancing my wardrobe with classic pieces. Even in college I was never a fan of dressing exactly like the mannequins in the store. I prefer adding my personality to my outfits and mixing my trendier clothes with my classics. Even with my classics though I like to veer from the expected. So when shopping for a blazer for work instead of the typical black blazer I opted for a light grey beauty from Talbots Official. The color is so versatile, and I love that I can wear it as part of a suit, wear it over a dress or even with jeans! I also grabbed the perfect chocolate brown leather skirt from Talbots Official and the most darling cheetah pumps to round out my look.
