How bloggers drink the cup of success

…we can’t drink unless we actually pick up the cup of success…

Recently, we had our first StyleCollective meet up for 2018 at the Dragonfly at the Hotel ZaZa in Dallas. The location was perfect and beautiful. And the food was superb. If you’re ever in Dallas you must have the calamari salad at the Dragonfly!!! Diiiiiiivineeeeeee!! But I digress…

For this meet-up I dubbed it “ladies who launch.” It was our first meet-up for the year, so I wanted us to come with the mindset that 2018 is our year to really set fire to our blogging goals, dreams, and our wish lists.

Cup of success

Pick up your cup

While planning for the meetup I kept thinking of drinking the cup of success. There are many phrases and idioms that relate the word cup to success — a cup of success, success in a cup, drink to your success. As I kept thinking about it however it dawned on me that we can’t drink unless we picked up the cup – or at minimum find a straw. The bottom line however is we can’t have success without action on our part. So pick up your c.u.p.

I shared with the ladies how I view the “cup” and how I define each letter.

To drink the cup of success you need:

C – Confidence and Courage

Confidence in yourself and in your abilities, as it gives you that drive and belief in your passion and path. But with confidence you must have the courage to step outside your comfort zone, push the boundaries and take action.

U — Be You, Be Unique:

There are no two of us alike – none. By the same token we each have something unique to offer the world.  Yes, that blogger we admire may have a million followers and a beautiful feed, but they’re not you. Find your own path and what’s that unique trait you can bring to your blogging.

P – Persistence and Prayer:

Starting is easy, quitting is even easier. However, continuing, especially in the face of failure, problems, slow growth, zero campaigns, shadow banning, low engagement and changed algorithms, that’s the real challenge. Persistence is critical. Keep emailing those brands, keep trying new tactics to improve engagement, don’t ever give up on your blogger dreams.

For me, prayer is a really important piece of the puzzle. I’ve shared before that I pray about everything. So yes I pray and ask God to give me new ideas for my blog as well. “Casting all your cares upon him…”

So for 2018, let’s be sure to pick up our cups as we strive for blogging success. You can shop my look below!

Bummer on the cancellations! I asked department stores for samples for the bags — so little perfumes etc. Also one of the ladies is a Mary Kay rep she brought little gifts for each lady.
