How to style the silk robe from Who What Wear

You’re either are all in for the robe trend or totally against it. Some still believe you should leave it in the bedroom or at least don’t go pass your porch in it.

Me? Robe please!

Especially if it is the blush pink, silky number from Target’s Who What Wear Collection with its black trim and bell sleeves! When I pulled it out to wear for my birthday dinner recently my husband asked me “baby, is that to wear home or wear out?” My response was baby, its my birthday and we are taking it to the runway! Ha!

How to Style a Robe

The biggest hindrance to wearing this trend is not knowing how to style it. Two of my girlfriends indicated they had no idea what to do with it. If you think of the robe as a trench coat or a long cardigan, however, styling it becomes easy. Just work it into your everyday wear by

• Throwing it over jeans and a tee with mules for a casual date.
• Slipping it over a pencil skirt and blouse with heels for the office.
• Pairing it with a silk dress and statement shoes for a night on the town.
• Cinching it at the waist and wearing it as a dress!

Here are some tips to elevate your outfit from normal to haute.

Cinch at the waist with a belt or band to add shape.

Here’s the skinny

Wear straight leg pants or jeans, fitted dress or pencil skirt with your robe. This balances the volume especially if your robe has voluminous sleeves like my robe from WhoWhatWear.

My advice when dressing, especially if unsure about an outfit, “just rock it” !!! I’ll always believe that confidence is the best accessory a girl can wear.
