Easy Jerk Wings with an Orange Sauce Glaze

I love jerk wings. My husband does not like his wings too spicy though, so I typically make a barbecue jerk to balance the spiciness of the jerk seasoning. This time however I used the San-J Orange sauce in place of the barbecue sauce and it was a WIN!

The tangy sweetness of the orange sauce was the perfect balance for that distinct spicy jerk flavor. It’s just the two of us so we had wings for snack right out of the oven, then dinner then breakfast and lunch the next day. Yes they were that good! And for those of you who say you can’t have chicken for breakfast that’s where eggs come from!! Enjoy these wings and let me know if you tried any variations!

Ingredients

3 lbs chicken wings
1/4 Cup vinegar (for washing the chicken)

Seasoning for wings

2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons Mrs Dash
1 teaspoon of Goya Adobo
1/4 teaspoon of cumin
1/4 teaspoon of thyme
1/2 teaspoon Goya Sazon
2 teaspoons of jerk seasoning – Walkerswood Traditional Jerk Seasoning

Orange Sauce Glaze for Jerk Wings

1 Cup San-J Orange sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons of jerk seasoning

Cooking Instructions:

Step 1

Pour vinegar over the chicken in a large bowl and fill with water. Rinse well. Drain water.
Season chicken generously with seasonings above. Use a spoon or your hands to mix the chicken and seasoning ensuring each piece is coated.
Wash hands thoroughly when done!
Refrigerated for at least 3 hours

Step 2

Pre heat oven to 375
Place chicken on a grill rack with a pan beneath to catch the drippings. I used my Nordic ware oven bacon pan.
Tip: cover the pan with foil before baking to make clean up easy
Bake chicken for 30 minutes

Step 3

Orange jerk Glaze
Mix the jerk seasoning with the glaze
Take chicken out of oven and coat the top with glaze then return to oven for 20 minutes
Take chicken out and flip them. Coat the other side with the glaze and return to oven for another 20 minutes.

Voila! The best orange glazed jerk wings ever!
My husband likes his wings singed so leave the wings in longer for your desired crispness
Add more/less jerk to the glaze according to your desired spice level
