Hairfinity Vitamins and other Hair Secrets for healthy locks

For as long as I could remember people would ask me if I was wearing a wig. I remember one time in particular where a client asking me what’s my real hair like under there. Yessssssssssssssss she did! The perception was that since my hair was so black, long and thick, especially for a black girl that it must be a wig. That’s a whole different blog though.

“Dye till I die”

I remember having my hair colored so it didn’t look so black so people would know it was mine. My then hairdresser had the presence of mind to use a rinse even though you couldn’t even tell I had a color! When I started getting grey hairs however, I needed a solution as like Cynthia Izaguirre, anchor for WFAA’s 10 p.m. broadcast grandma says, “I’ll dye until I die!!”  I quickly found out that my hair does not do well with permanent color!  My hair was breaking so badly that I had to cut it all off. Truthfully even semi permanent color damages it. So now I only use a rinse even if they wash out quickly. At least for that two weeks I don’t have as many gray hairs!

Hairfinity to the rescue

As a result of my dyeing expeditions however my daughter likes to tell me my hair is not as glorious. Blah blah blah I say to her! Nevertheless, I started using Hairfinity vitamins about two years ago to help rectify the damage. Though I hate tablets, especially big ones I took them and they have been ahhhhhmazing. They’ve helped to thicken back up my hair and help it to grow back to almost its original length. Though my hair is still not back to the glory of my younger days its close and getting there!

I’m pretty happy too that Hairfinity vitamins now come in chewable form!!! WhuuuuuTTTTT!! I actually have to remind myself now that I only need two! I may or may not have a sweet tooth! Ha! Both of my sisters and my daughter use hairfinity too! We share good tips and tricks in this family!

Here are some other hair tips from us!

  • Limit the use of heat in your hair. I still use rollers to dry my hair and take my own to my hairdresser. She laughs at me every time too! If I don’t use rollers, I wrap my hair, even though it takes forever to dry its less stress on the hair.
  • Trim your hair often! Yes, this seems counter productive if you’re trying to grow your hair but the trimming actually seems to promote growth. It also stops the split hairs from going further up the hair shaft.
  • Read the ingredients and know what you’re putting on your hair. Look for shampoos and conditioners with natural ingredients! I recently tried Briogeo Scalp Revival™ Charcoal + Peppermint Oil Cooling Jelly Conditioner  and I’m in love! My daughter is an expert at this and is always mixing up a concoction for her hair.
  • Use protective styles like braids or a weave to give your hair a break from chemicals. I’m sorry (not sorry) but I’ll forever be a creamy crack girl! Well let me not say forever. Ha!
