When sneakers fly: Nike Pegasus

So somehow running evolved into a high jump – several high jumps actually. After all who can resist a flying leap over a fountain even if just figuratively — especially while wearing your Nike Air Zoom Pegasus and cute athletic wear? Added to that according to Greek mythology Pegasus was a winged stallion. So “flying” was in order!

With each jump to get the perfect picture however, the afternoon turned into a lesson.  I thought of the C. Joybell C. quote “flight is a beautiful process. But then to rest on the wings of God as He flies: this is divine.”  That’s so deep. I’m not sure about you but I’ll be the first to admit that resting is a test in itself. Even when we verbalize “I trust you God,” we find ourselves busy trying to make things happen or worse yet worrying about the issue as we take our eyes and our minds off of Him and put them on our problems. We all know that that did not work for Peter. As soon as he took his eyes off of Jesus he quickly moved from walking on water — “resting on the wings of God” — to sinking and calling out for help. Let’s try to NOT be like Peter!

Interestingly enough the new Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 34 “Be True” releases on June 5th at select retailers and Nike.com. I flew in my old Nike Air Zoom Pegasus — or I felt like I did — so I can already imagine this new release on my feet!!  What I really wish for for all of us though is that moment of total and complete faith, “resting on the wings of God” and really flying. Let’s work on really trusting God and casting all our cares on Him! Let your sneakers fly!
