Dear younger me: What would you tell the younger you?

Looking back at the younger me I’ve learned so much and I’ve matured. I am much more settled and comfortable in my own skin now. I wish the younger me had the older me as a mentor. But then again in some ways I guess she did as I could hear my mom saying “Just pray, just pray” no matter the problem. And I could hear my second mom telling me a zillion times, “learn to paddle your own canoe.”

I remember these lessons but still there is so much more that the younger me needed to hear. Though too be honest I’m not sure younger me would have listened. Oftentimes teenagers and young adults think that the adults in their life want to control them when in fact all they want is what’s best for you.

Several weeks ago I shared that Kendra Scott started her jewelry business with $500 in her spare bedroom. Her first venture, a hat business, failed. Today her jewelry line is a billion dollar business. The pieces are exquisite, she gives back to the community and she has loyal fans across the globe. Her younger self would be proud!

I would tell the younger me, “you can make it!” I didn’t always have the self assurance or strength that I have today. (Read that blog)  I wish that the younger me, knew that she would make it. Today I’m sharing some insight into what some of my IG friends wished their younger self knew. These are all great nuggets that the younger me needed so do share with a young ladies in your life as they may need to hear these:
