Postscript
Did you ever wonder what P.S. meant? I remember trying to figure it out as a child. Why did every letter, or so it seemed, have a p.s. Depending on how old you are you’ve probably never even used P.S. because letter writing is a lost art. Today with emails, texts, and snaps, we no longer have a need for a postscript.
This year though I have my very own postscript for 2019.
P. — Pray, Pause
S. — Start, Synergy
PRAY
If you’ve been following us for a while, you’ll know that “just PRAY” and prayer is an important part of my life. So, this would probably be my leading “P” word every year. I can’t do anything without God and even when I try, I fail and get right back on my knees with a, “Lord I need you.”
PAUSE
On New Year’s Day in passing I heard Lara Spencer mention on Good Morning America that her “P” is PAUSE – a reminder to pull back and take time for yourself. I wish I’d been paying closer attention or could find the segment to listen to the entire thing. Pause resonated with me however, because as women we often give priority to our husbands, kids, jobs, and housework before we remember ourselves. This year I’m taking several pauses.
START
If you follow Serena William’s you’d see she promotes defining your “S”. This year my first one is START. I am guilty of talking my self out of some dreams and finding reasons why I need to wait. It’s not the right time, I need to do XYZ first, or what if blah blah blah. Nope, not this year. This year I am just starting and reminding myself to paddle my own canoe! I am not even waiting for the shout of, on “your mark!”
SYNERGY
And finally, SYNERGY. This is so important as the right partnerships are critical for success. Finding individuals who align with your values and goals is important. What I’ve found of late too, is that you need partners who work at a similar pace. And in truth, partners who have similar initiative and drive. If not, you’ll find yourself doing more pulling and pushing than partnering.
So my postscript is pray, start. Or I can go with pause, synergy. Either way I’ll be writing a postscript for my 2019. What’s your “P” word and “S” word for the year?
I still use PS! Love this post!
I am loving this!! So awesome 🙂
Love this post! It’s always good to pause more and take more time to ourselves rather than always helping others! On a side note, I love your green pants!
