Easy, Breezy, Comfortable: Workout Clothes

2-11-1

The moment ‘Athleisure’ became a style category, I jumped on board immediately. People are no longer being judged for wearing their workout clothes to run errands. My mom would always tell me to “go put on real clothes” whenever we went out, but now athletic clothes have finally made the cut. Comfort and functionality are key qualities I look for in athletic clothes. It’s all fine and dandy to look cute in them, but can I actually do physical activity in my clothes? The answer is, yes.

I love shorts that I can move around in without worrying about them riding up or not stretching. It’s important to get shorts that are loose enough for mobility, but not to loose to where they may fall off. Each person has there own comfort level with regards to length. DO WHAT WORKS BEST FOR YOU. It’s okay if you don’t get it right the first time. If you get a pair of shorts that you don’t feel confident it, turn them into ‘at home’ shorts because you can never have enough of those. I am currently wearing the Nike Dry Tempo shorts that are super breathable. I tend to get a size up in shorts for extra comfort.

Tops are a little more flexible. I paired my shorts with a cute cutout tank and strappy sports bra from Victoria’s Secret. Who says you can’t look good and feel good while working out!? Both of these pieces are very functional and supportive,  not to mention a great price.

I finished off my look with my favorite athleisure sneakers, Nike’s Air Max Thea. They come in a variety of vibrant and neutral colors, and the style goes great with shorts, leggings, and even jeans… versatility for the win am I right?
