Dillards Sale: Tips and Must Haves

Every year I shop the Dillards New Year sale…. E.V.E.R.Y year.  Shopping the Dillards sale though, is always a mad rush because you get an additional 50% off clearance items! It is such a bargain that everyone does it, so you need to have a plan to beat the madness and score the cutest pieces.

Scout the sale

Typically, I’ll scout out the store the day before to see what I want and try on clothes, so I go in with a plan. I must confess I do try to hide stuff too though I’m not always successful at that. Ha! To hide stuff, I hide it in plain sight but in an area where there are no sale items or in the men’s section. The worse thing is when you go back to scoop up your items and they are all gone. Ask me how I know!!! 

If you’re shopping for handbags plan on being at the store 2 hours earlier and waiting in line. THERE IS ALWAYS A MAD RUSH FOR BAGS! The jewelry counter is a MUST. Ohhhhh my goodness. I always leave with way too much pretty little things! Take a friend or two with you as well so that you can divide and conquer. While one is scoring the handbag deals the other is grabbing the fabulous deals in jewelry, while the other stands guard at the pile of shoes she scooped up. Yes, shopping the Dillards sale takes commitment and strategy. (LOL)

Start Shopping Online

I also scout out the best online deals too. I’d warn you that even though its warm and cozy in your bed while you shop, the brick and mortar store has wayyyyyyyyy more choices. If you are shopping online, plan on being ready to hit buy right at the stroke of midnight! Even then you still lose some of the pieces in your basket. I typically scour through all the sales and clearance sections and add them to my wish list. To make it easier I filter by my size and price range too if I know I’m sticking to a certain budget. My daughter and I laughed last night that I started my search with the shoes – my first love.  Just before midnight on the 31^st I move my must haves to my shopping bag and ready my finger to hit buy!
