Blogger Besties

One of the best parts of blogging is meeting other people you’d not have connected with ordinarily. I met Ally, creator of @fashionablyAlly at a StyleCollective meet up. (By the way if you’re not a member of StyleColective runnnnnn [don’t walk] over and join now!) Ally also does fashion photography and needed a model. Seeing that we lived relatively close to each other I volunteered.  Fast forward to today with several meet ups, events, hang outs, laughs and conversations in our pretty mini bags, she is my blogger bestie and I am her annoying Instagram alarm – “Ally make sure you post today!” (LOL)

Blogging can become overwhelming when you think of everything you want to accomplish and the path to get there is cloudy. It’s easy to give up or be discouraged especially if you take your eyes off of what you’re doing and compare yourself to another blogger. “Comparison is a joy stealer” – don’t do it! If you have a blog partner however or you are part of a blogging community you have someone to discuss ideas with, share opportunities and a support system where you all can grow together and pull each other along.

Blogger Goals

I remember when I started this blogging journey with my daughter we had some loose goals. One of those goals included becoming a RewardStyle Influencer. My daughter had been following bloggers like Brighton Kelly for a long time and laid out the plan. She insisted that we needed to post consistently at least once a day and blog at least twice a week. We had said perhaps in a year we would apply. We are both in some ways perfectionist and we wanted everything to be zipped tight when we applied. Ally insisted that we throw caution to the wind and apply now. If we got rejected, we wouldn’t lose anything if we had to wait another three months as we had planned on applying next year in any case.

Red + Plaid = IT

Well Ally was right. Not just about the fact that we were ready but about going after your dreams, taking the bull by the horn and just doing it. Jump in! We applied on a Friday and got approved on Monday. Drop jaw moment as we really didn’t expect that. Ally and I had been planning a collaboration shoot for the longest while. The timing and our wardrobe worked out perfectly. Red is the “it” color, plaid is the “it” print and Ally is the “it” blogger friend!
