The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has Instagram and social media in a tizzy. Take a scroll through Instagram and you’ll see what I am talking about! I am ALWAYS ALWAYS down for a good sale! ALWAYS! I’m sharing my picks, most below $100! I am also sharing some tips to keep your wallet happy!
Set a budget:
I remember when my daughter was younger as a single Mom we would go shopping at Nordstrom Rack armed with $20 each. That was all I could afford back then so that was our budget for that day. Sometimes we spent it all many times though we brought it all back home. When you have a limit, it makes you think long and hard before you spend it.
Don’t go in debt:
Six years ago, my husband advocated for the Dave Ramsey plan. He wanted us to be debt free. I went on the journey with him, just keeping one credit card to earn travel miles. Every month however, we zero out that card as our rule is only credit what you can afford. If you don’t already have a Nordstrom card it’s ok to wait! Don’t get a card just to shop the sale. The fab shoe you saw will still be there and if it’s not, it wasn’t meant to be! Trust me. There are fab shoes EVERYWHERE!
Avoid Peer Pressure:
Just about every fashion blogger will be posting their Nordstrom finds, dressing room try ons and their fabulous buys. Don’t buy just because someone else does!! Ask yourself first, do I have the budget? If not stick to what you can afford. Do I have a need to shop? — Scratch that as do we ever NEED to shop? I’ll let you answer that in the comments. Stay away from social media for a couple weeks if that helps!
Have Patience:
I understand FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). I really do. Last year however a top I saw at the Nordstrom Sale miraculously ended up at TJMAXX….say whuuuuuut!! Yes it did and I bought it at TJMAXX! So ask yourself do I really need this $180 sandals, and do I need it now? It may end up at Nordstrom Rack or on Hautelook in a couple of weeks. There will always be another sale.
