Tracksuit pants to tuxedo pants
So I wore my joggers as tuxedo pants. They weren’t just any joggers however but tracksuit pants – yes the plot thickens. October’s InStyle issue showcased “Team Players” in tracksuits. If you know me I live in heels and I am not a tracksuit wearing kind of girl. My daughter maybe, but me? Not so much. The only outfit that peaked my interest from that article however was Jourdan Dunn wearing heels with her track pants. Can we say fierce? Interestingly enough when I bought my gray track pants for some reason I envisioned the juxtaposition of street and ballroom — a tuxedo for the street.

Vera Nazarian once said that “we put on formal wear and suddenly we become extraordinary. On the days when you feel low and invisible, why not try this on for size: imagine you are wearing a fantastic tailored tuxedo or a stunning formal gown. And then proceed with your day.” For me I take this as every day you need to “dress” yourself spiritually, mentally and physically and remind yourself that you’re extraordinary. Extraordinary too is not defined by our clothes, onlookers or the naysayers but by you – what’s on the inside. We have to be our very best and loudest cheerleader.
Someone once said you should only wear sweats to the gym! Welllllllllll I was never good at following rules. I am also here to remind you that we need to dress to please ourselves. Not what’s in, or what’s trendy, but what makes us feel extraordinary.
